Christmas Box was born out of a desire to see families that are struggling at Christmas time not miss out on the opportunity to enjoy and share this special time of year with family and friends.
Christmas Box has gained credibility as a leading community initiative in Geelong, Ballarat and Warrnambool with Kardinia Mission recognised as an authorised Packing Location Partner. Since 2019 we have packed and distributed around 6,500 boxes to families in need.
Recipients of Christmas Box are identified and selected by our community partners and boxes are distributed in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Kardinia Mission seeks partnership with a variety of organisations that provide services to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and families in our communities.
Our annual Packing Days are an exciting collaborative event where teams of volunteers from the corporate world, Kardinia Church and the wider community come together to assemble, pack and deliver boxes. Our volunteer army have been excited to be part of this initiative for those less fortunate in our community.
Kardinia Mission partners with Christmas Box to supply and distribute boxes across all Kardinia Church locations to families in need in our local communities, schools and charity organisations.
