Kardinia Church engages in local outreach programs to show love and care to people and to build connections between church and community.
Our vision is to see people from Kardinia Church actively engaged in outreach programs to our community that impact the lives of people and transform their communities.
Kardinia Outreach is funded through Worldchangers, the annual faith pledge program of Kardinia Church; Government Funding, Grants and the generosity of the business community, individual donors and community organisations.
Groundforce is a project of Kardinia Church. It is a large scale, one day, landscaping makeover of a local school or community organisation. Since 2005, this annual event enlists more than 200 volunteers from Kardinia Church who come together to make a significant contribution to the community in a practical, hands-on way of service.
Schools and Community organisations are often faced with tight budgets and changing priorities which means they don’t always have the resources to keep up with outdoor maintenance or revitalisation of playgrounds and landscaping. That’s where Groundforce becomes a vital connection between church and community. Using the people power of the local church, along with generous donations of materials, equipment and services from local businesses, Groundforce has helped a long list of schools and community organisations to upgrade and rejuvenate their outdoor spaces.
Joining with the hundreds of Groundforce volunteers from Kardinia Church for each project are parents, students and teachers from the schools and leaders and participants from various community organisations. Working together creates community partnerships, connection and restores pride when outdoor areas are transformed into beautiful spaces that are able to be enjoyed and utilised every day.
Kardinia Playgroups are located in our Campuses at Geelong, Ballarat and Warrnambool. The programs are run by trained leaders from Kardinia Church and are open to any caregiver of infants, toddlers or pre-school aged children.
At Kardinia Playgroups we welcome children of all-abilities. It is an ideal place for children to learn social skills and group behaviour. The programs also provide the opportunity for caregivers to meet others, develop friendships and grow in relationship with children in their care.
